Order system enhances restaurant chain’s process

The Client:

This is a barbeque restaurant company with more than 200 franchised locations in the continental U.S., Puerto Rico, and Canada. The company provides franchisees with more than 12,000 menus in 21 different pricing versions, as well as marketing collateral.

The Business Challenge:

Franchisees must keep up with numerous “limited time only” menu and also customize their own locations’ pricing and promotions collateral. The company was using a manual system of paper forms for franchisees to fax to the corporate office. The system was cumbersome, time-consuming and prone to errors. Ordering was further complicated by the fact that many franchisees own multiple restaurants, forcing them to fill out multiple forms. The entire system was causing frustration and unnecessary costs.

The Solution:

HKM proposed an entirely new concept to replace the paper and fax system. The solution leveraged HKM’s deep expertise in technology, programming and “print on demand” services. HKM proposed building a custom online storefront website for franchisees to order personalized menus and collateral such as window clings, tabletop cards and staff t-shirts. It would allow them select the prices, and quantities for their location.
